Estimate how published online-fax plans behave at your expected monthly volume. The calculator models only plans whose public pricing can be compared responsibly and deliberately refuses to invent a number for quote-based, split-allowance or unclear plans.

Estimate published-plan cost

Estimates exclude taxes, international surcharges, setup fees unless stated, separate send/receive buckets and plans whose overage rules are not public enough to model. Verify checkout pricing before purchase.

Why some providers are not calculated automatically

Several vendors use separate send/receive allowances, quote-based plans or incomplete public overage data. FaxScout shows those providers in comparison tables but does not fabricate a single-number estimate.

Use peak volume, not just the cheapest advertised plan

Run the calculator at your normal month and your busiest realistic month. Then compare the result with any feature-driven tier requirement such as a BAA, extra users, number porting or API access. The lowest arithmetic result is only useful if the plan actually supports the workflow.

What “fax cost” means for an online service

The workable monthly cost is the plan price plus any predictable overage or tier upgrade required by your real page volume, users, number needs, API access or BAA requirement. A cheaper advertised tier is not cheaper if it cannot support the workflow.

After you estimate volume, open the provider review to verify the current plan details and limitations. For healthcare, confirm the exact BAA-eligible tier before treating a calculated monthly amount as a usable option.

Frequently asked questions

Why are some fax providers missing from the calculator?

FaxScout excludes plans when public pricing, overages or allowance structure are not clear enough to model responsibly.

Should I use average or peak monthly fax volume?

For a business with seasonal spikes, run both. A plan that is cheap at the average can be expensive in the busiest month.
